JOAD is a program of USA Archery, and is governed through the Board of Governers as well as the USA Archery office. JOAD maintains its own administrative office which oversees daily support duties and the recruiting of new clubs.
JOAD is coordinated by a national network of leaders and coaches.
The JOAD Committee governs the JOAD program. The committee consists of a JOAD National Coordinator, four regional coordinators (one from each of the four USA ARCHERY geographic regions) and one Athlete Representative. There are no set terms for any of the positions. If you or someone you know would like to get involved in one of these leadership roles, please contact the JOAD office or USA Archery.
JOAD tournaments are coordinated through a network of dedicated volunteer adult leaders and coaches. These tournament leaders are the backbone of many of these events.
JOAD Club LeaderA USA Archery JOAD club can be led by any instructor age 21 years or older. It is strongly recommended that the leader be, or become, a USA Archery Intermediate Certified Instructor. While a Basic certified instructor can teach archers a fun and safe program, the Intermediate certified instructor teaches the JOAD archer the fundamentals of USA Archerys "BEST" shooting method (Bio-mechanically Efficient Shooting Technique).
The BEST method is the official shooting style of USA Archery, and is the method used by the resident archer-athletes at the Olympic Training Center near San Diego. The method was created by the National Coach of USA Archery, Kisik Lee.

jump_gal_1@hotmail.com JOAD State CoordinatorsState Coordinators represent the JOAD clubs in their state. They may hold meetings with State JOAD club leaders regarding State Indoor and Outdoor JOAD events. In some states they maintain state JOAD records. Some State Coordinators also assist with scheduling in order to avoid conflicts and encourage club interaction. The State Association usually selects State Coordinators, but if there is not a State Association, they can be appointed by the Regional Coordinator.
