USA ARCHERY COACH

CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

TRANSITION OUTLINE

 TRANSITION PERIOD - 2009, 2010, 2011

The years of 2009, 2010 and 2011 will be the "Transition Period" from the old program to the new. During this time, any Level 3 or Level 4 instructor whose certification is set to expire will receive extensions through December of 2011.

  • During the 2009, 2010 and 2011 years, we will offer "Transition Regional Coach Courses" that will combine the information from both the Community Coach Course and Regional Coach Course in one class. This class will be available for any coach who has been an Intermediate (Level 2) Instructor since 2007 or later or a Level 3 or 4 Coach. Coaches can achieve a Regional Coach designation upon taking the course and passing the test and can also be certified to teach a Community Coach Course upon completion of an additional class project. For those Level 3 and 4 coaches taking the Transition Regional Coach Course the fee will be reduced to $250 from $450 during the Transition Period.

  • The Community Coach Course is offered to any Intermediate (Level 2) Instructor with one year of experience or Level 3 or 4 Coach who does not want to take the Transition Regional Coach Course. They can achieve the Community Coach designation upon taking the course and passing the test.

  • In order for Master Coaches to re-enter the eligible pool for international team selection, they must at least attend a Regional Coach Course and it is recommended that they go through the Elite Coach requirements.

  • Level 3 and 4 Coaches who have taken a past Regional High Performance Seminar from Coach Lee can submit an application for immediate designation as a Regional Coach. However, they will need to take a Transition Regional Coach course within the Transition Period. However, those coaches who took the week-long Regional High Performance class in November, 2008 and passed the tests will not be required to take the Transition Regional Coach Course.

  • The two year waiting period prerequisite between and Regional and Elite Coach status will be waived for those coaches who have been a Level 3 or 4 Coach for over two years.
